Adopt a Shelter Dog in October and Receive a Free Scoop, Peoria, AZ – Arrowhead Pooper Scoopers

October is Adopt-a-Shelter-Dog Month. According to ASPCA, approximately 7.6 million animals enter the 13, 600 animal shelters each year in the US. Of those, 1.2 million dogs are euthanized and only 35% of the dogs find new homes. The number of re-homed dogs is way too low. That is why Arrowhead Pooper Scoopers has partnered with #LovePup, an Arizona based dog rescue mission run by 104.7 KISS FM DJ Johnjay and his wife, Blake. Working in conjunction with the Arizona Animal Welfare League (aawl.org) we want to bring awareness to the need for more adoptions and support for no-kill shelters.

Many people are hesitant to adopt a shelter dog because they don’t know where they’ve been or their history.  While in many cases that’s true, that’s not necessarily a bad thing. Dogs live in the moment. If a dog has come from a traumatic background, they will forget it once they are out of that environment. Humans have a tendency to dwell in the past and that may trigger more trauma for your dog. Let them forget and just enjoy their new loving home. Rescue dogs are the most appreciative creatures on earth. They know you rescued them and they will spend the rest of their newly found lives thanking you.

#LovePup has rescued more than 150 dogs since its inception in 2015. Supported solely by Johnjay and Blake and donations, LovePup does not charge for their dogs. All their rescues are spayed or neutered and they take care of any immediate health care needs. Arrowhead has the privilege of supporting the #LovePUP mission with our poop scooping services and look forward to blessing the lives of lots of pups.

But Arrowhead was inspired by LovePup’s mission to go a step further. We are offering a free scoop to anyone who adopts a shelter dog in October. Families who adopt a shelter pet need only call Arrowhead at 602-391-0160 and mention the #BIGScooPUP or visit www.arrowheadscoopers.com.  But we’d also love to see pictures of your new furbabies. Post a picture on our Facebook page and share your adoption story with us.
